Stephen Winter’s 1996 indie classic calls us to join a band of HIV-positive black drag queens, trans and queer urban activists who stage a series of surprise attacks on local officials to expose political corruption surrounding the AIDS epidemic.
A native of Chicago who moved to Manhattan to attend film school in the early ’90s, Stephen shot Chocolate Babies in just three weeks.
