Dream Defenders is a Black-led, feminist, socialist, abolitionist, and internationalist political formation fighting for a world without prisons, police, capitalism, and imperialism.
This bold group envisions communities where safety is built through solidarity, care, and self-determination rather than through punishment and surveillance.
The Freedom Papers, created by the Dream Defenders, are a bold blueprint for racial justice, people power, and self-determination to dismantle systemic oppression and build thriving futures for Black and marginalized communities. With a vision rooted in abolition, restoration, and radical imagination, these freedoms and declarations offer pathways to transform society and affirm the inherent dignity of all people.
Anchored by the belief that freedom needs fighters, the Freedom Papers go beyond policy proposals—they’re designed to ignite a national campaign to organize, advocate, and demand real systemic change. From ending police violence to securing housing, dismantling racial capitalism, and building a sustainable future, the Freedom Papers articulate solutions grounded in community care, equity, and collective power.
Their manifesto challenges the status quo and re-imagines systems of governance, education, and justice. It calls for a future where Black and marginalized communities are free to be, govern, move, and thrive—unfettered by state surveillance and violence, poverty, or environmental destruction. It envisions a world where the dreams of Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, poor, and working class people become the foundation for a just society, where freedom is not just a right but a lived reality.
The Freedom Papers aren’t just a call to action. They are a North Star, guiding us toward a better world that centers liberation, dignity, and abundance for all. Together, we can turn this vision into reality.
