A safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth to express themselves.
Launched by basketball player Dwyane Wade and his trans daughter Zaya, Translatable is a new digital platform that will offer education, support, and a creative outlet to transgender youth and their families.
According to Zaya, the site will focus on communities of color in an effort to “center the most marginalized, and emphasize the importance of parents and family.”
Every community benefits by supporting the growth, mental health, and well-being of our LGBTQIA+ youth. I love that this new space will encourage us to have those difficult conversations which can lead to greater understanding and acceptance.
Dwyane has said that Zaya is his “biggest educator and inspiration.” He explained that Zaya understands what is needed to create change, “It’s not the kids. It’s us. And so she wanted to create a space that felt safe for parents and their kids.”
