Zola is originally from Massachusetts and was a Show Director for Boston’s only 7-night-a-week Show Bar, Jacque’s Cabaret on Broadway in New York.
In addition to working at Jacque’s, Zola worked at every bar that was ever around in the late 80s and 90s and won the titles of Miss Gay Boston, Miss Gay New England, Miss Gay East Coast, and others.
He moved to NYC in 2000 to pursue his dreams of being a professional makeup artist for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, which afforded him the opportunity to travel the world. Of course, Zola had to take a back seat, but you can’t keep a good Queen down, so she sprang back up with shows at “East of Eighth.” She won her first NY title in 2013 as “Ms Fire Island” and is a former “Miss Fire Island” with a historic two year reign.
Zola has always served her community in any way possible. Whether it’s lending her talents for “Trinity Place Shelter,” “ICNY,” One Sandwich at a Time,” “Hearts of Gold,” or any other charitable organization, you can count on her, in or out of Drag, to be out there making a difference with style, grace, and love!
